Document AI specialist Lomin (CEO Jihong Kang) announced on the 11th that it has completed the deployment of its Document AI platform, Textscope® Studio, for Refine, a leading real estate due diligence company in Korea.

Following the initial application of AI OCR technology to Refine’s lease contract verification processes last year, Lomin has now expanded the automation scope to further enhance the accuracy of title investigations and proactively mitigate the risks of fraud and forgery during property transactions.

Refine plays a pivotal role in the Korean real estate market by conducting preliminary due diligence to support mortgage lending and title insurance underwriting. The company verifies the continuity and validity of registered and unregistered property rights and identifies any issues that may compromise the integrity of real estate ownership.

Due to the wide variety of document formats used in real estate transactions—many of which are handwritten—manual reviews traditionally required significant time and resources. To address this, Refine has adopted Lomin’s AI OCR solution to automatically extract and validate key information from complex documents, significantly streamlining the review process.

Lomin’s Textscope® Studio leverages proprietary deep learning models capable of recognizing printed, handwritten, and typewritten text. It delivers high accuracy and fast processing speeds, even with low-quality images, thanks to its pre-trained document models. By integrating computer vision (CV) and natural language processing (NLP) technologies, the platform can analyze document context and precisely extract critical data.

With this system in place, Refine has been able to significantly reduce the time required for real estate document reviews while increasing the reliability of its due diligence processes. The platform also strengthens fraud prevention by detecting anomalies and inconsistencies in property documents.

CEO Jihong Kang commented, “AI-driven document automation is becoming a vital component in improving the safety and efficiency of real estate transactions. Through Textscope® Studio, we are proud to support a more accurate and systematic due diligence environment.”
