Lomin Supports Post Office Workflow Automation with Document AI Platform
Enhancing Employee Productivity and Customer Convenience
Document AI specialist Lomin (CEO Kang Ji Hong) announced on the 19th that it has secured a contract for the "AI-based Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Research and Development Project for Post Office Counter Workflow Automation" initiated by the Korea Post.
The project aims to improve the productivity of counter staff and customer convenience by leveraging Lomin’s Document AI platform, Textscope® Studio, to rapidly process handwritten postal and deposit documents.
Textscope® Studio is the only AI OCR solution in Korea capable of recognizing printed, handwritten, and typed text. It excels at processing low-quality, unstructured, and handwritten documents, outperforming existing OCR technologies.
Handling handwritten forms is a major aspect of counter operations in post offices, where manual data entry is both time-consuming and labor-intensive. Korea Post plans to implement Textscope® Studio to automate data extraction for customer details, addresses, and other information, significantly reducing manual input.
Moreover, the platform’s post-processing features, including automated address correction and data validation, minimize input errors and streamline repetitive tasks, resulting in notable efficiency gains.
Beyond this project, Lomin has collaborated with various public institutions, including the National Archives, the Korea Intellectual Property Office, and the Korea Environment Corporation, to accelerate digital transformation across the public sector.
Kang Ji Hong, CEO of Lomin, stated, "We are delighted to contribute to the digital transformation of post office operations with our Document AI platform. Following the successful completion of this pilot project, we plan to expand Textscope’s application to a broader range of services, including logistics, deposits, and insurance, starting next year."
In addition, Textscope® Studio was recently designated as an Excellent Procurement Product by Korea’s Public Procurement Service, a recognition that underscores its superior performance in automating document data processing tasks. This designation provides Lomin with opportunities for direct contracting, participation in procurement expos, and support for entering international markets.
